Barbara Head's Profile
My Profile
2663 N Halsted Street
Chicago, IL 60614
Barbara’s high school nickname? “Bulldog.” She will always be in your corner!
Barbara’s career in the real estate industry covers a number of positions, from managing developer’s conversions in the 1980’s to the brokerage community and Rubloff Residential Properties in 1995. This longevity gives her the skill set that serves her clients well. She has been through a number of up and down cycles in the real estate market giving her a solid perspective that enhances her ability to guide both buyers and sellers through challenging times.
While everyone is engaged in multi-tasking these days Barbara’s philosophy is simple - she has ONE AND ONLY ONE TASK – to represent you in the most honest and ethical manner possible, advocating on your behalf, for a successful and rewarding conclusion in your search for a place you call “home.” Her hands on approach means listening, organizing and evaluating your needs as she helps you define your priorities in order for you to have a real comfort level when it comes to either buying or selling a home. While the fundamentals of a transaction remain the same, the people are what make the dynamics of each one unique and very special! Her goal at the end of the day is to make sure that you are well informed and happy with the process every step of the way.
Barbara’s neighborhoods stretch from Beverly on the Southside all the way along the Lake front from Streeterville through the Gold Coast and into Lincoln Park/DePaul, Wicker Park, Bucktown, Lakeview, Old Irving and Portage Park.
Community Service
In support of Chicago and her community, she has been involved with the West DePaul Neighborhood Association, participating with other residents on the Zoning Committee. This group brought about a sweeping ordinance that now protects homeowners from adjacent property developers during construction. Barbara has been the President and founding member of the Tax Reform Action Coalition (TRAC) a grassroots organization advocating reforming the property tax system in Cook County since 2000. Her hard work lead to the property tax cap in 2003 known as the “Seven Per Cent” bill. She has been acknowledged by the Ravenswood, Lake View and Wrightwood communities and has won TRAC the recognition of elected officials at the city, county and state.
Interests
Her personal interests include home decorating, cooking, a passion for dogs – especially her Irish Setter, McGuire, reading mysteries and trashy novels, and monitoring all the current events – especially the political scene!
